Pet Portraits
How do I begin?
Get the process started for your custom pet portrait:

1. Decide on a portrait size. Reference my portrait size/price chart and select an option. (For further information on pricing, see below.) It can help to decide where you would like the portrait hung when it is finished, so you can make sure it fills out the space.

2. Find a picture! Remember, Arriondo Creative is all about realism. The photo you submit will be replicated as exactly as is possible, so pick a great one. Select one with crystal-clear details so we can easily capture your pet's fur texture, whiskers, and facial expression. Make sure your pet is in the position you would like the portrait to capture. Unless it is an extremely minor detail, I do not change pets' facial expressions or positions when drawing.

3. Email me at info@arriondocreative.com! Let me know what size portrait you would like and submit your picture via email. Once the photo is approved, I will discuss framing, background preferences, and completion date with you. My schedule often fills up with pre-booked commissions, so plan ahead if you need to receive yours by a certain date.

Step One: Decide on a Portrait Size
When it comes to picking a portrait size for your home, consider this:
-
First, think about where you want to display the portrait and how much wall space you have available. A larger portrait can make a bold statement, but it may not be practical if you have limited space.
-
Next, consider the size of your pet and how much detail you want to capture in the portrait. A larger portrait will allow for more detail, while a smaller one may be more suitable for a simple, minimalist look.
-
Finally, think about your personal preferences and the overall aesthetic of your home. Ultimately, the size of your pet portrait should be a reflection of your style and taste.
Don't see the size you prefer listed in our pricing? Don't worry - I love custom orders.
If you would like a custom size, pricing will be determined by hourly rate/square inch, as well as any extra cost associated with custom framing. Let me know what your vision is, and I'll send you a quote for the final product.

Step Two: Selecting a Picture
When selecting a photo for a high-quality pencil portrait of your pet, it's crucial to choose an image that is high-resolution and well-lit.

-
Resolution: Pick a photo that ensures the details of your pet's features are captured clearly. Can you see whiskers? Texture of fur? A silly sparkle in your pet's eye? Those details are what you want. The clearer they are, the more realistic your portrait will be.
-
Pet Positioning: Select a photo where your pet is positioned in a way that showcases their best features. If your pet has a great smile grab a picture where their smile is front and center! Think about what parts of your pet you wanted captured. Do you want their whole body in the frame, or just their face?
-
Lighting: If taking a photo of your pet specifically for your pet portrait, make sure you take a picture in a well-lit place. The more light there is in the picture, the more details will be highlighted.
All photos must be approved by the artist before work can commence. If I can't see details, I can't provide you with a high-quality portrait. I take pride in the detail of my work, and will let you know if the quality of the picture submitted isn't sufficient.
